Fearing that I may be repeating myself much too often -- check out Thomas Jane and Vincent D'Onofrio in "The Velocity of Gary" -- anyway, that takes nothing away from our guys here and their fearlessness on national TV!

Rebadow sees his death-pardon culminating in an electric nightmare that kills his grandson.
Father figures come full circle from the monster of O'Reily's to the loving regrets of Burr and Hill. Keller & Beecher finally embrace and kiss and love again through a crazy ride of seasons 4 and 4.5. Alvarez goes from solitary to aproaching "normal" back to crazed solitary.... as does Omar. .....other thoughts. Is Hill dead? Was he made whole (feel his legs) by his sacrifice? Finally Beecher gets polemic on Said and shows his narrow view of God's and humankind's love. I screamed as Robson scraped his teeth. Gross!!! Keller does not have the decency to wear underwear to court. I have heard of a hung jury but not defendent, -g-. Keller always mixes the sacred and profane. He is Dionysious personified. I love him. (tell me why?) Step back.... what did this whole season mean? Is it the set up for the whole OZ saga finale? |

1. What Oz ultimately means may well be simply "What does it mean?" TF essentially said this in his Corrections Today interview. The myth of Oz is not unlike the myth of Orpheus in that regard. It teaches us -- to ask questions. It does not teach us the answers.
2. Beyond that, there may be three principal suggestions: a. The Laws of God boil down to one: "Love." It is an absolute and is not to be broken or interfered with. b. Humans cannot understand God's purpose. "Ever read the book of Job?" We can only hope to begin to understand God when we have evolved into being part of him. The energy that fuels that evolutionary process is Love. c. Said asked McManus how to find salvation in working with White. McM said "That is up to you." Alvarez asked Mukada how to find salvation. Mukada said "That is up to you." We must all work out our own salvation in fear and trembling. We must all find our own meaning in Oz with fear and trembling. Speaking of his play "On the Verge, or The Geography of Yearning", Eric Overmyer said: "I think of the play as a long poem. I hope the play works in the way that a poem does by rather resonating with meanings than by being explicit." Oz often has a poetic quality. |

Okay, a question-if that is what Robson's dick looks like *after* Beecher bit part of it off-how big was it before???I actually could not watch the part where he cut his gums and I can watch just about anything. That was grotesque.
Have to agree Rick B-Beecher was so damn wonderful this ep. He finally stood up to Schillinger in a constructive way. He explained humanity to Said *quite* well. And he loved up his baby. Damn. Great, great kissing scene. Open mouths and all. YES!!!Of coures I could have seen *more*(yeah, it's never enough for me*g*)of the reunion... Mondo-You aren't surprised that Chris wasn't wearing underwear were you? lol I think he had to wear those blue briefs on SVU cos, hey, it's network. He looked incredible-absolutely perfect. jfc-I say we start a new religion worshipping Chris-lol. Hey, it makes more sense than Scientology. I felt so bad for Miguel. He looked so adorable in his suit. And I feel bad for Omar. He really was trying to do the right thing. Very sad about Hill. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's dead. I think the feeling his legs was like he was finally getting some deliverance from all the pain at the end. There was something really beautiful about that. WTF is up with Pancamo? Is he dead or not? I would actually miss him. And why was he not sent to the only hospital in the Universe when he got the infection(Benchley Memorial-is TF a fan of Robert Benchley?)? Cloutier? Is he gone for good?? Was that it?? Sheesh. Well I guess they can wrap that up next season, huh? Comedy moment-Cyril is sentenced to death and the execution is thirty days later... Right. |

My guess is maybe TF when filming these episodes last year expected Harold to still be around for season 6 and maybe was gonna have him get his legs back as a new storyline for the character. Now if Harold returns or not hasn't been said but if he decides to leave TF can just have Hill die. The door is still open as it stands now. Kind of like with Adebesi,we didn't hear anyone say the word dead til season 4.2 aired. I'm sure though that if Hill dies it was because Harold wanted to leave the show. There are 4 characters I doubt TF would ever go out of his way to kill off (Hill,Said,Beecher and R. O'Riely) I'm sure in the case of any of these four it would be because the actors who play them wanted out. I would add Vern and Alverez to this group but since TF killed off Adebesi (a major bad guy) I don't see where Vern is any safer then he was and Alverez has spent so much of season 4 (both parts) in the background that I think it may have given TF the idea that the show can go on with or without him but for me personally,Kirk leaving Oz would be harder for me then anyone else leaving...besides Christopher of corse.
I agree with you Christina about Alverez looking adorable and White trying so hard. I hated seeing these two characters mess up after coming such a long way. I wonder if next year will indeed be the last. TF signed a 3 year contract for the new set in NJ so next year would only be year 2. I could not imagine Oz for a seventh year if Keller dies in season 6. If he has to die,I do hope they leave him on death row for a long time like they did Shirley. She was on death row for two seasons. Rick |

The Hill monos have applications beyond the episodes in which they appear. It is possible that is the case with some of the songs in Variety. In particular "Leather" might apply to Keller. The song involves concerns of someone who wants to move beyond sex for sex's sake to love. "Here I stand, naked before you, don't you want more than my sex?" That question is a question Keller asks himself about his "nature", not really directs towards Sr Pete. He is now willing to offer society more than sex (love for Beecher) but society keeps him from realizing that. His question to Sr Pete symbolizes the internal battle between his old nature and his new nature. It's like he's saying, "I can't completely kill the old nature, but the new nature is fighting against it." Or, more darkly, he could be saying, "What real use is the new nature beyond the theoretical? This is Oz, where we let nature take its course." That could relate to some of the ideas of repression of instincts discussed in the opening Hill mono in Dream A LIttle Dream of Me.

LOL Gio!!! You know with some of the lame stuff Tom has come up with in the past (aging drug,Luke Perry character disappears like magic ect.) nothing he does would surprise me anymore. Keller pregnant, then Howell could come along and say "See I told you you were MY bit*h".
Seriously, like Christina has pointed out many times these characters getting on death row and being killed a week or month later is nuts. In real life many prisoners stay on death row for 10-15 years. I perfer when Tom writes Oz in a more realistic matter then when he does these unbelieveable things. I mean Keane was on DR for what one episode.LOL Rick |

When the chinese immagrants were put in OZ I thought that was stretching things but then I heard in Miami there are immigrants held in prisons in limbo with no rights and no trials. It was sad to here an Iraqui woman's saga of escaping persecution by Saddam, yet has to be held in prison until she can 'prove it'. ( Of course if she was Cuban Miami would have rolled out the red carpet ).

Mondo-Tom said in an interview that the Chinese immigrant story and the aging drugs were based on actual events but I don't think when the aging drug was administered in the real life it turned someone's hair gray one day and then when they stopped taking it there hair went back to it's regular color the next day. Oi.

oh man.. i promised myself no spoilers. 11:06 pm, sunday night. gave up. I have no will power. I cannot wait to see this season. I am dying from anticipation, i swear.
as an aside, i was watching this thing on TLC called "women behind bars" or something, and there was this sad older lady who just made me think so much of beecher. She'd killed her husband because he abused her (okay, that part, not so much) but the judge told her that he wanted to make an example of her, so he gave her a life sentence. When she got there, she said she kept acting like a victim so she was treated as one by the other inmates who made her perform sexual favours for protection and got into fights with her. She didn't have many friends because she was such a loner and just lived to see her kids. Then she met someone in prison and the two were 'married' (that's what a friend of the women's said. they were so close they might as well have been married) for 9 years on the inside, and then the other woman got transferred to another prison and they have been apart now for some time and it's unbearable. The woman just sweeps floors all day. She's had great progress since being inside, but when she applied for leniency she was denied and sent back. *sigh* maybe tom's been hanging with the ladies lately? |

A while back I saw an interview with Harold wherein he said that he loved Oz and wanted to be with the project as long as possible. I don't think he was in all the Matrix films (there are three of them).
TOM this is my wish list: 1. Open season 6 at the Hill's death scene with Tim shouting for a doctor. Gloria rushes in and says he passed out and she takes him off to work his magic. That way he can just do mono's in case he is still doing the Matrix. 2. Let this bitch with the flashlight get caught in a lie or use outside pressure on him so it will throw the conviction. OR seeing as though Grace Lima presided over his and Beecher's case, let her clear her guilt for the sentence she gave Beecher by being kind to Beecher and just give the man another 20 years. He's in for life so what the hell. 3.As much as I hated Alvarez, he grew on me this season. SO...let that dogtrainer lady speak up for him and corn cob up the ass Glynn let him out of solitary. 4. Give Glynn an enema. |

First of all, hmmm I'm not sure if I like the new boards. :/
Now to the more important information: Oz, Oz, Oz My goodness, Pam if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have gotten to see season 5 in TWO, yes TWO days! 1. CK and TB's phenomenal reunion scene...... *sigh* 2. Miguel's face contorted in anger at his parole hearing after being told that he was going to be denied parole 3. well, all of Ryan's scenes... *wow* Note to TF: "PLEASE DO NOT KILL OFF CHRIS KELLER!" |

He may have been right. Here's his role model according to Betty Bowers at the datalounge:
members.aol.com/JesusImag...rucker.JPG "I'm not quite sure what the Lord Jesus is attempting to do, but it is clearly making this truck driver a bit nervous. by: Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian 20 03/23/2002 @ 04:49PM It does appear, however, from the heavy Cleopatra eyeliner that the Lord Jesus has been watching too many black & white Barbra Streisand television specials recently."
